Wish We Never Met debut their dreamy self-titled single “Wish We Never Met,” which graces our ears today alongside a stunning visualizer. This song is a Dream-Pop explosion that is filled with synth laced elements, bringing the song and the interesting visual to life. Whether you’re on a roadtrip or dancing at the club, “Wish We Never Met,” will resonate with your heart, soul, and ears. An atmospheric angst fills the song, fueled by competition, but without the chill of their xanny-reliant peers.

“Wish We Never Met,” is taken from the group’s upcoming 4-song EP debut which will see the light this year. The track ebbs and flows bringing a haunting yet vibrant sound that showcases the true essence of the Wish We Never Met.

Known for bringing a gut-punch of devastating reality to a chaotic, dreamy relationship tale, the further story of the group unravels as you’ll find yourself putting the song on a loop. Its dreamy undertones pave the way for the slightly hypnotic nature that sets them apart from the rest in the best way possible.

The project has its roots in an isolated Northern California town, where Cliff and Matt bonded over a mutual appreciation of bmx and k-pop. In 2014, under the moniker xBMx, the duo recorded a demo which was lost after an electrical fire destroyed the storage unit that doubled as the pair’s recording studio. After a series of escalating fights, the two parted ways for nearly seven years. When the pandemic finally reunited them, the artists chose a new moniker inspired by their time apart.

Reforming as Wish We Never Met ended a long period of writer’s block for Cliff as Matt came along with more of a bare-bones traditional take on songwriting.

Mixed and mastered by Sam Pura, the record reflects the influence of artists like Sophie, Tim Hecker, tnght, Jpegmafia and Farrah Abraham. With minimal sampling and maximal vocal effects, the record’s turbulent romance is free to be as vicious and danceable as Wish We Never Met want it to be.

This is only the beginning for Wish We Never Met and we’re eager for more….
