By Quinn Donoghue – After a 9 year hiatus, Doom Metal band, Mares of Thrace, has reignited their beloved project with a new album called The Exile. Before my interview with lead vocalist and guitarist, Thereze Lanz, I went back and listened to the band’s previous two albums, The Pilgrimage and The Moulting along with the new material. I came away from the experience thinking that the band is truly creating their best work yet, which is especially impressive considering the quality of their previous work and the nine year gap between album two and three. Songs like “Mortal Quarry” and “In All Her Glory” stuck out to me as unapologetically harcore, while displaying exceptional musicianship and technical brilliance.
