Flechettes are Jack Heaton, William Watts, Nicholas Kitts, and Johnny Raper. Coming from Wigan, in northwest England, the group made an impression on their hometown scene when they formed in summer 2019. Quickly booking a huge run of live shows around the northwest, their plans were halted by covid in early 2020, just after supporting hometown heroes and friends The Lathums on their final tour date. Through the first covid era, the band began to sharpen their craft of song writing and focused on gaining a larger presence on social media. In November 2020, their anticipated second single ‘Chasing Youth’ arrived. The band quickly got back into the studio to record ‘Man of the Hour’, released in February 2021, receiving play on Sky Sports Soccer AM, Radio X, BBC introducing, XS Manchester, and more.
Never liking to take a creative backseat, the band decided to record a four track EP for release in summer 2021. This received transatlantic attention on the coveted Rodney Bingenheimer show on Sirius XM, and radio play as far away as Australia and Ecuador. With the easing of restrictions, the lads took to the stage with the Ks for Scott’s menswear’s football fest and were scheduled to play at Y not prior to its cancellation. The lads then had the opportunity to play at the coveted Isle of Wight festival thanks to indie promoter heroes, this feeling, which the band regard as one of the defining moments of the journey so far. Moving into 2022, the band are as hungry and dedicated as ever to pushing their music and their performances to new heights and are constantly striving to achieve as much as possible.
