Toronto’s sweetheart, folk-pop singer, songwriter and actress Melanie Peterson launches the title track from her upcoming album, ‘We Got This’ (produced by Mitch Girio), and declares the official release date for the album is Friday, November 13, 2020.

The video features a calming view of our beloved Lake Ontario (Toronto east-end Beaches area, near when Peterson lives).

“We Got This” pursues Peterson’s continual songwriting theme of love, with a positive message and hopeful state of mind (which means so much right now).

“We Got This” (the single) – available to purchase on all online channels on May 22, 2020 – was produced and mixed by Toronto producer/musician Mitch Girio (Susan Cadogan, Fraz Milne, Emma Cook, David Newland). ARTIST QUOTE: Melanie Peterson states, “I wrote this song in a hotel room in Edmonton on a cold winter day. I was touring to Vancouver, thanks to Via Rail’s Artists on Board program, and had stopped over to play a show at the charming Blackbird Cafe. After the show, I had two days before the train came through again, so I decided to write a song and debut it in Vancouver. These three words ‘We Got This’ came to me, and the words and music began to flow. It’s a song about hope and knowing that in the midst of emotional struggle, which I feel is appropriate as we all patiently hope for the best during the COVID-19 pandemic, we look forward to the day we can say – we got this!”
