Review by Amanda Daubert – Canadian Country music star Brett Kissel has been heading in the right direction since breaking onto the scene 10 years ago. With three Platinum singles, ten Gold singles, two Gold-Certified albums, and sixteen Top-Ten radio hits, he’s never really needed help navigating his way to the top. However Kissel is about to take on an incredible new project, throwing his GPS to success out the window, now solely relying on “The Compass Project ” to find its way to the heart of his fans, and the top of the charts.

“The Compass Project is without question the most ambitious project I’ve ever undertaken, and the one I’m most excited about,” shares Kissel. “At this point in my life and my career, I want to tap into all of the different quadrants that represent and guide me as a person, husband, father, artist, and entertainer – and those themes resonate in the distinct direction I take on each album!”

“The Compass Project” will be released in four parts. Starting with South Album, a Kissel album through and through; then East Album – a more intimate stripped down, acoustic album; West Album – an homage to traditional Country Western music; and last but not least North Album – a tribute and thank you to Kissel’s fans with high energy live recordings of some of Kissel’s greatest hits.

South Album, out everywhere January 27th, kicks off with the single “Never Have I Ever,” a stadium country anthem that will be sure to get your toes tapping, fingers snapping and hands clapping. Next is another incredible single, “Watch It,” a beautiful and personal song which has an equally touching music video featuring Kissel’s lovely family, a huge source of inspiration for the talented husband and father.

Additional highlights of the album include the Modern Country sound of “Ain’t The Same” featuring pop and R&B group 98°, the fast and fun “All I Ever Wanted,” and a honky-tonk makeover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Cadillac Ranch.”

With exceptional story telling, moments that any listener can picture themselves in, and a raw honesty that makes each song incredibly relatable, South Album is a delight from start to finish. Navigate your way to your favorite streaming platforms January 27th to check out South Album, and keep your eyes out for the additional albums of “The Compass Project.”
