Photos by Brad Goldstein – Silversun Pickups is an alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2002. The band consists of Brian Aubert (vocals, guitar), Nikki Monninger (bass, vocals), Joe Lester (keyboards), and Chris Guanlao (drums).
Their debut EP, “Pikul,” was released in 2005 and gained them a following in the indie rock scene. Their first full-length album, “Carnavas,” was released in 2006 and produced their breakthrough single “Lazy Eye,” which received critical acclaim and helped them gain mainstream success.
Since then, Silversun Pickups have released several more albums, including “Swoon” (2009), “Neck of the Woods” (2012), and “Widow’s Weeds” (2019). They are known for their dynamic and energetic live performances, as well as their distinctive blend of shoegaze, dream pop, and alternative rock influences.
Silversun Pickups continue to be a prominent force in the alternative rock music scene, with a dedicated fan base and a reputation for delivering powerful and emotive music.
