Jason McCoy (popular Radio DJ and front man for country band The Road Hammers) will be the Saturday night headliner for the 2 Day, 3 Show concert event happening on May 7th and 8th at the Blue Mountain Resort. The country music event is the first announced of it’s kind this year and is about to hit social media, the radio and newspaper headlines for Monday with an announcement of the full line-up of musical acts that will be performing.

It is a Drive-In style show says organizer Forrest Jones, and we have worked very closely with the entire team at Blue Mountain Resort, and the Blue Mountain Village Association, along with local and regional health departments to make sure we are operating a safe, but much needed music entertainment event. “People have needed this for some time and it is just exciting to have something to look forward to musically when everything has been shut down for so long”.

Friday May 7th the event will kick off with a Rob Watts followed by Elyse Saunders who is nominated for CMAO 2021 awards as: Rising Star, Female Artist of the Year, and Music Video if the Year. She then turns the night over to headliner David Boyd Janes, no stranger to awards and accolades, right now the iHEARTradio Future Star, who has a top performing song out now called Couldn’t Hurt, which was one of the most downloaded songs in Canada in March.

The event also has proceeds benefitting the Unison Fund, the Unison Benevolent Fund is a non-profit, registered music industry charity that provides counselling and emergency relief services to the Canadian music community. They are there to help professional music makers in times of hardship, illness or economic difficulties. A perfect fit for our event. To donate go to www.unisonfund.ca

Saturday – show #2 starts off with Suzi Kory, just off her new release called “TIME”, inspired by the story of a friend who’s son passed in an accident a while back. Her story telling is incredible and is just one of the nicest people – and a great voice! After Suzi is Barrie’s golden voice John Anderson. His CD has songs that are just incredible – he’s so talented. His upbeat country (rock/pop) music has people dancing from the first note, and he’s used to big crowds, winning the 2017 Magna Hoedown. Headlining the afternoon show is KANSAS STONE. These guys know how to party and put on a show! From Barrie Ontario also, Core members are Brian Harwood, and Matt Davey who sing and play guitar. It’s not just country, it Rockin’ Country; and the crowd is in for a good time.

Once the stage clears and the dust settles for an hour and cleaning protocols are taken, we empty the parking lot and the big finale happens on Saturday night with show #3 at 7:00pm. Starting off with the beautiful and talented Alessia Cohle, After the successful release of her single Tell You, which was co-written with Jason Blaine, Alessia has been putting her own stamp on country music. Her honest lyrics paired with her catchy melodies compliment her dynamic performance on every stage. She has shared the stage with Brett Kissel, Tim Hicks, Jason Blaine, and more; been a part of the coveted CCMA house band (2016, 2017, 2018). Then we have Dustin Bird, a modern country artist, songwriter, and producer, with his debut album just out now, “Unscripted” through Open Road Recordings; featuring single ‘Broke & Lonely’ – he’s a talent like no other. A great stage show and no one better to set the stage for the final performer, Jason McCoy.

“Everyone is super amped up about playing” says Jones, but with only a very select amount of tickets available, not everyone is going to get in so if any interest, I’d suggest not waiting for tickets”… Jones went on to say that people may want to mark June 11 + 12 down – for Country Cares 2.0 coming back to Blue with 9 (NEW) bands, and I think people will be shocked with who is coming to Blue in June!! The Blue Mountain Inn will be offering VIP tickets and Hotel packages – just contact them for more information.
