Just in time for a “shot girl summer” of newly vaxxed partying, French-Caribbean singer, bassist and producer Adeline (pronounced ad-uh-leen) has released a her latest single, “Eternity (featuring Joshua J)”, from her forthcoming sophomore EP. Previous singles, all of which will be on the EP, include “Whisper My Name” (+ debut performance on A COLORS SHOW), “Mystic Lover” and “9”.
Like a golden summer breeze, it’s the kind of feel-good jam that transports you instantly into that wanna-bump-it-in-a car mood, giving just a hint of nostalgia, yet pulsing with excitement for what the weekend will bring.Amsterdam-based rapper Joshua J, whose roots are in Ghana and the Dutch Antilles, and whose music is a refreshing blend of hip-hop, neo-soul and Carribean and African influences, adds a sultry touch to the upbeat jam. “This is my first single with a rap feature (finally!), and I’m so glad to be working with Joshua J on this,” notes Adeline of her collaboration with the rising star. “We wrote Eternity about getting caught off guard by love, falling fast, and deciding to flow with it. I hope this record helps listeners stay open to pleasant surprises this summer as the world reopens.”
Originally introduced to the world as the front woman for the nu-disco band Escort, Adeline spent most of 2020 soothing our frazzled nerves with a constant stream of soulful, heartwarming songs — 21 of them in fact, including 2 EPs, a fire hot duet with Kamauu called “Mango” (the video for which has garnered nearly 5M views) and numerous other collaborations and guest appearances with artists ranging from Pastel, Kraak & Smack and Blue Lab Beats to songwriter Jonathan Singletary and up-and-coming French rapper Lisko.
Adeline also recently announced the formation of Nightshade, her new production outfit with partner Morgan Wiley (Midnight Magic, Jessica 6). In September they co-wrote and produced their first hit single for Atlantic Records artist Kamauu — the sun-drenched summer jam “Mango”, which also features guest appearance by Adeline singing duet and playing bass.
Adeline has toured globally, sharing the stage with such notables as Anderson .Paak, Lee Fields, Chromeo, Big Freeda and Natalie Prass, as well as making recent appearances at Afropunk, Funk on the Rocks (Red Rocks) and Winter Jazz Fest.
