PEI native and 2022 CMAOntario Rising Star nominee Alli Walker, releases anticipated viral track The Whiskey’s Gone’ today. Teasing the song on social media ahead of the release, fans are already enamoured with the classic drinking song with a twist, as Walker can be heard playing the bagpipes herself throughout the track. ‘The Whiskey’s Gone’ is the ultimate mash-up of country and Celtic music that will have listeners wanting the party to last all night long.

“This song couldn’t be any more authentic to who I am and where I grew up,” said Walker of the new track.  “Since the release of my sophomore album ‘Growing Up’ I’ve been able to experiment more creatively in the studio. I’ve always wanted to combine my east coast flair with the traditional country lyrics and I’m thrilled that this song is already resonating with so many listeners around the world on TikTok.”

The Celtic inspired track is written by Walker, Jessica Cayne (Willie Shaw, Robyn Ottolini) and Kyle Kelso (Tyler James Bellinger, Aloe Blacc, ROZES, Kygo) and produced by GRAMMY-Award winner Dave Cohen (Reba McEntire, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood).

“I brought up in a writing session in Nashville that I grew up playing the bagpipes on the East Coast and my co-writers jumped on the chance with me to explore writing a sea shanty inspired country song,” explained Walker. Keeping true to the East Coast sound, Walker asked local PEI artists to play on the track including Tim Chaisson (fiddle) and Nick Vano (Tin Whistle).

After a summer filled with shows across Canada including Sunfest, Base 31, Duke Saloon and Horseshoe Tavern, Walker crossed off career milestones playing the main stage at Cavendish Beach Music Festival and a performance at Boots & Hearts, including a visit to the SiriusXM stage with Buzz Brainard. Coming off the heels of a whirlwind summer, Walker is ready to head back into the studio to finish her next album and will be heading back on the road this Fall, accompanying Kidd G on the Canadian dates of his ‘Anywhere But Home’ Tour. Tickets can be purchased here.

Since dropping her debut in 2019 Walker has made quite the mark on the Canadian country music scene, finding her sound and carving her own path in the industry. Walker’s innate ability to use social media to promote her music has made her the 3rd most followed Canadian country artist on TikTok (after Shania Twain) and has garnered over 40M+ views. Boasting over 7.5M+ streams, Walker has landed spots on some of Canada’s top playlists including covers on Apple Music’s ‘Canada’s Country,’ Amazon Music’s ‘Breakthrough Country’ and Spotify’s ‘Live Country’ and was honoured with a Spotify billboard for her sophomore album release in downtown Toronto which went to #6 on the iTunes chart this year. Walker’s latest music video for her single ‘Growing Up’ was featured on CMT US and Australia and she was named Spotify’s Radar Artist on the Horizon in 2022.
