Hailing from the Balkan country known as Croatia comes alternative rock outfit Manntra. Today we present you the premiere of their impressive long-player ‘Monster Mind Consuming’. While the band are popularly known on the local homegrown scene, this happens to be the band’s second English-language album to appear from frontman Marko M. Sekul and his warriors.

On this release we experience a handful of well-produced and cleverly-arranged tracks that unite ancient folk influences with metal-hand rock- the pieces fit well and the band have honed their sound well to find the perfect balance – enough so to get themselves signed to German label NoCut Entertainment. Reaching a new dimension in the dark circus, Manntra is a thrill to experience live, the band’s sound is unmistakable – A little Rammstein, a little Eisbrecher, plus a Balkan touch in the style of System of a Down. An exciting storm was evoked, which has the potential to lodge itself in many different ear canals.

“This is essentially a war album. A battle cry for life. It covers topics like fear, war, being strong and going through a difficult time or heartbreak, being a slave to your fears and being set free in the end. It’s a war against your own insecurities; a war against yourself – and we want you to win this fight! It’s about every single fan and listener of the album. It’s an album by people for people,” says Manntra vocalist Marko M. Sekul.

“We gave this album our all. We created different songs, tried new things with production and wrote the most intense and darkest songs ever. For me, this is the real face of Manntra – A dark journey through folk, industrial and gothic.”

From epic, powerful to overwhelming, brute and full of longing and pain, the band has been periodically dropping potent tasters of this epic emotion-filled efolk-metal masterpiece, including singles ‘Heathens’, ‘Barren King’, ‘Slave’ and ‘Ori Ori’, casting a real thunderstorm of sound, and ‘Voices of The Sea’, with its more traditional bent.

Written collectively by the band and produced by Sekul, this is a harmonious representation of all five members. Summoning a storm of excitement, their music has enormous earworm potential.
