Raw, electrifying energy is what hip-pop artist AyoPaco brings to modern fans, pushing past current trends and into the future of music. Inspired by the Atlanta trap scene, 21-year-old AyoPaco grew up in the renowned indie rock town of Athens, GA with a fusion of influences.
AyoPaco’s debut album is releasing in early 2023 and we’ve got a sneak peak of his first single, “i8.” Memphis’ own Duke Deuce guests on the single. We caught up with AyoPaco to get to bottom of how this collaboration came about.
“I was interviewed not long ago and was asked where the inspiration came from for my EP, Planet Pac. That was an easy answer. I explained how I came up with the sound actually through Duke Deuce with his aggressive “yaw yaw yaw.” One night I started making my own obnoxious sounds and screams and the next day ended up taking those yaws and ad-libs, chopped them up, and put them in a song I had already recorded. And that became a major element throughout Planet Pac.
He continues “Fast forward about two months and my manager calls and says, “How would you like to have Duke Deuce do a feature?” I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I would ever meet Duke Deuce much less have him on one of my songs. Since he was about to hit the road to support his new album “Crunkstar”, we set a date for the next week. I knew “i8” was the perfect track for his style and flow, so we pulled up at QC and the rest is history.”
So there you have it. The perfect guest for a love letter to the iconic luxury coupe, the i8!
