Australian alt-rock band Bones and Jones announce that their new EP In Blue will be released on February 2nd, 2024 – pre-save HERE! The announcement arrives after they dropped two singles from the project at the end of last year, including the Strokes-reminiscent, synth-tinged “Need It” (listen HERE) and the melancholy, heartfelt track “Simple Passion” (listen HERE). In addition, the band will head to Austin, TX this March to showcase at SXSW 2024.

In Blue sees Bones and Jones lean into the indie rock facet of their sound following the unique fusion of folk and garage heard in their previous work. Trading their signature slide guitar sound for synthesizers, the forthcoming EP marks a new stage for the band that they are thrilled to share with old and new fans alike.

Formed during high school in the Victorian town Geelong and now based out of an old apple orchard on the Victorian surf coast/Wathaurong Country, Bones and Jones draw inspiration from the landscape that surrounds them as well as their decade-long friendships within the band. This background has resulted in a sound that blends country-tinged vintage rock with a contemporary energy, which has caught the attention of Rolling StoneNMEThe Guardian, and Triple J. Additionally, the band’s eclectic style has gained prestigious recognition as their second album Ginger Gold (Farm Singles) was nominated for the Australian Music Prize and Victorian Music Awards.

With an impressive track record of opening for widely-celebrated bands including King Gizzard & The Lizard WizardAngel OlsenCrumbTwin PeaksMdou MoctarThe MurlocsThe Nude Party, and Drugdealer, Bones and Jones are currently taking their frenetic live show across their homeland of Australia opening for Melbourne trio The Grogans. Be sure to check them out at SXSW 2024 as they make their first appearance in the US this year!
