Canadian Music Week is happy to announce the Live Touring Summit will return in-person in as part of the CMW Conference June 8-10, 2023 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, with exciting keynotes and insider discussions from major music industry players.
Canadian Music Week will present a keynote presentation by Debra Rathwell, the Executive Vice President of Global Touring and Talent at AEG Presents, which will cover her outstanding career including her work with megastars Carrie Underwood, John Mellencamp, and her role in the highest grossing tour of all time: the Elton John Farewell Tour. A native of Canada, Debra Rathwell is one of the most respected and admired professionals in the music industry, as well as being one of the highest-ranking female executives working on the live side of the business today. She was inducted into the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame in 2020 and named Executive of the Week by Billboard in February 2023.
The Live Touring Summit will also include a roundtable discussion with: Erin Benjamin, CEO of the Canadian Live Music Association, the voice of Canada’s live music industry; Stephen Parker, Executive Director of NIVA, the National Independent Venue Association which nurtures the ecosystem of independent venues and promoters throughout the United States; and Jon Collins, CEO of LIVE (Live Music Industry Venues & Entertainment), the voice of the UK’s live music and entertainment business.
Canadian Music Week and Canadian Live Music Association will hold the 10th annual Canadian Live Music Industry Awards on June 9th to celebrate the live music sector in Canada with award presentations and performances.
The CMW Conference, Canada’s largest and longest-running industry conference, will also include the CMW Music Summit Conference June 8-10, and Radiodays North America June 8-9, at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.
