Canadian pop duo Via Barcelonia release their new Album Wonderland on October 9th via all streaming services. The new album displays outstanding vocals and compelling lyrics aligning with the pop-influenced world music the duo is best known for.
Wonderland is an intriguing mix of songs about life’s ups and downs, focusing on relationships, breakups, finding yourself, adventuring, and so much more. The single “It Ain’t Over” is a laid-back pop tune about reminiscing on the past and choosing to live in the moment rather than worry about what you can’t change.
Other notable tracks from the album include the carefree “Stand Taller”, the insanely catchy “Somebody”, and the emotionally heartbreaking “Lost and Found”.
“We really wanted to create an album that we’d be stoked to listen to, a collection of songs that bring you up and down on a cool journey. This album feels more refined as we set out to better merge the soundscapes of pop/folk song writing with some world music inspiration,” said Andrew Allen.
Comprised of Vernon, BC based multi platinum selling singer/songwriter Andrew Allen and percussionist, vocalist, and producer Taylor McKnight. The duo uses their gifted talents to combine world music with a nod to music of the past and a leap into music of the future.
Via Barcelonia released their debut single “Just Wanna Dance” in 2018, followed by their debut EP in 2019, earning them FACTOR support for their album release which is slated for the Fall of 2020. They have headlined the Richmond World Music Festival, Parks Alive, Harmony Arts Festival, BX Press Cidery, Metabridge Teach Event, and Sun FM Boat Cruise.
