Vancouver-based rock band, Chase The Bear, will release their debut album Honey via Rock Is Dead Records and all streaming platforms. Packed with high-energy rock anthems, Honey is laced with infectious melodies and powerful electric guitar riffs. “Underwater”, the album’s opening track, was released earlier this year alongside the music video which has garnered nearly 150,000 views to date. The dynamic video was filmed at Vancouver’s iconic Hollywood Theatre, a gorgeous 1920’s-style heritage building where Chase The Bear played their first local show following the pandemic shut-down. The band’s most recent single, “Five More Minutes” closes out the album and perfectly encapsulates the spirited energy that the group is known for bringing to their live performances.
“We are so happy to be releasing our debut album,” says lead vocalist Troy Gilmore.“We poured our heart and soul into every second of this record, and have been eager to put it out into the world ever since its creation back in 2019!”
Honey was produced by Danny Craig, the co-founder of new Vancouver-based record label Rock Is Dead Records (the first-ever label to be distributed by 604 Records) and member of chart-topping, million-selling Canadian rock band Default.
“We knew the moment we heard this band play that we would need to partner to make something extraordinary,” says Rock Is Dead Records co-founder Dave Benedict. “When you know you have something great, it takes time to cultivate and perfect. Fast forward four years and here we are!”
Originally hailing from the wild wilderness of Fort St. John, BC, Chase The Bear includes vocalist Troy Gilmore, guitarists Leo Gilmore and Jordan Philips, drummer Connor Brooks, keyboardist Kevin Parker and bassist Braedan Royer. The group mixes catchy hooks, roaring electric guitars, and hard-hitting rhythms inspired by classic rock with soul and pop influences. The act has performed over one hundred shows, including a sold-out show opening for The Trews at Vancouver’s iconic Commodore Ballroom.
