Montreal alt-pop artist Emi Jeen is a huge fan of Christmas, but that doesn’t mean that writing about it came easy. Two years ago a friend gave her a ukulele for Christmas and the time was right to finally get working on that holiday tune. And today she releases her debut original “All Together For Christmas”. “It took me 2 years to finish this song and I am thrilled to finally share it with the world;” says Emi. “I’m a huge fan of the Holidays and I hope this song brings joy during the celebration!” Listen here.
Next week she’ll begin an East Coast tour with Kin Crew in support of her recent EP Why So Serious. So what happened in those two years? In the beginning, Emi grabbed the ukulele that she was gifted with and came up with the chorus. But then she got stuck, and it was time to call in some help. “I wrote to Isabelle Banos (Caveboy, Songwriter & Producer) to ask her if she would be down to finish the song with me;” says Emi. “She was thrilled and also invited Tiffany Topol to join us during the session.” And then another year passed until Emi brought in producer Luca Liberatore to record and produce the track. The wait was definitely worth it as Emi, along with the help of some music pals, has crafted an upbeat, fun, celebratory holiday song to sing along with the important folks in your life during this season!
