Following up on their single release, Brooklyn janglepop outfit Forever Honey share the accompanying music video for “Number One Fan.” Under the Radar premiered the video praising their “trademark airy springtime feels.” “Number One Fan” is now out everywhere via Better Company Records.
Forever Honey is a coming together and blending of multiple worlds, an effortless mixture of different sounds and stories. Inspired from personal experiences, such as coming of age and processing new emotions, Forever Honey writes on such themes with poignant and catchy finesse. “Number One Fan,” a very literal song on scrolling through social media, tackles everyday experiences and anxieties, turning them into a jangly, infectious “sob rock” track.
On the song, the band offer: “Number One Fan, in particular, is our least abstract/most literal song, lyrically. The entire thing is about scrolling through instagram and seeing the highlights reel from everyone’s life. You know people, deeply, in the least meaningful ways; you fall in love with the least accurate version of someone.”
“The song was inspired by the thing we all did way too much of in 2020,” the continue. “Scrolling mindlessly through TikTok/instagram. With that in mind, the lyrics are literally what I saw one day in my feed. It’s funny putting it to paper – so much is virtually cast onto us – and the numbness we feel throughout it all is just…bizarre.”

Forever Honey is a Brooklyn-based band composed of Liv Price (lead vocals, guitar), Aida Mekonnen (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Vannelli (drums, keys), and Jack McLoughlin (bass, production).
Despite a challenging, virtual debut in spring of 2020, the 4-piece’s EP “Pre-Mortem High” managed to garner the attention of indie tastemakers (e.g., NPR, American Songwriter, The Wild Honey Pie) for channeling “the clever, no-nonsense spirit of 90’s brit pop and the jangly guitars of 80’s new wave” (Tommy Johnson, Ghettoblaster.)
The year+ that followed was one of hunkering down with the rest of the world, writing about a whole lot of nothing, and playing pixelated shows/festivals/live sessions. Forever Honey finally emerged in the live show circuit summer 2021, preceding the release of their latest song “Satellite” – one of two singles to be put out on Better Company Records.
