Half Moon Run’s contribution to the project presents a new musical setting for the trio. Folk at its core, the song is led by a dominant string arrangement, that rings in duet with harmonica. The hard panned “drums-in-the-right-ear” approach is reminiscent of early Bob Dylan and leaves open space for their familiar three-part harmonies. “Late 60’s is an aesthetic that we chase,” says the band about “Fatal Line”, reflecting on the antique lyric and live-off-the-floor recording.
Inspired and sonically representative of the late 60’s folk movement, 1969 was developed by songwriter and producer Connor Seidel. Artists featured on the album include Half Moon Run, Louis Jean Cormier, Safia Nolin, Les Soeurs Boulay, Matt Holubowski, Ariane Moffatt, Elisapie, Elliot Maginot, Philippe Brault, Claudia Bouvette, Jason Bajada, and Joseph Mihalcean. 1969 is set for release on April 12th 2022. Pre-order vinyl now.
