Drawing from influences such as Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and Three Days Grace, Toronto hard rocker VILIVANT delivers new single “Running On Empty” today! Produced by Sam Guiana (Juno Nominated band Silverstein), is jam-packed full of punk rock hooks, that will make any rock lover headbang. The track deals with the feeling of emptiness and the struggle to find a spark amidst the world’s unravelling chaos.

Julia Gentile, the artist behind VILIVANT comments on the single, “During the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I felt lost. Lost as a person, creatively, and even in the music industry. “Running on Empty” came about when I kept using that term to describe how I was feeling. For the first time in what felt like forever, I finally felt my creativity spark. Unlike my other songs, I didn’t hide what it was about with metaphors and cliches, I was straightforward.”

On October 28th Vilivant will be celebrating Halloween with a headline show in Toronto at The Baby G with support from Fluffio, The Backsteps and The Lookout Service. Doors at 8pm. Stay tuned for more announcements!

MORE ON VILIVANT
Vilivant quickly gained success when she was approached at age 14 to record a song for the Pan Am Games. Inspired by hard rock’s leading women, she released her first self-titled EP (with the help of producer Tal Vaisman & Andre Kaden Black). Streams from her debut EP garnered 25K+ streams on Spotify and over 25K+ music video videos for “Never Again”.  The single earned an impressive spot on the Top 100 rock radio charts in Canada with support from stations 94.9 The Rock (Toronto), Rebel 101.7 FM (Ottawa) 98.3 CIFM (Kamloops) and The Wolf 106.9 FM (Nanaimo), to name a few. While performing over 40 shows just in 2019 alone, Vilivant grabbed the attention of Demetrius Nath (Worked with Arkells, Alexisonfire, Walk off the Earth, Billy Talent, Arctic Monkeys, Bush, The Used).  The following year, she was asked to play for the Australian Wildfire festival (televised event) to help raise money for the wildfires in Australia. That year she also won Jim Beam’s National Talent Search in the Toronto Region with her LIVE off-the-floor performance of ‘Stabilized.’ On Top of this, she also supported Lee Aaron at the sold-out El Mocambo.
