Adelaide alternative metal quartet Heartline share new single Synthetic from upcoming EP ‘Pink Lemonade’, out Friday August 16, and announce their headline launch tour presented by Destroy All Lines.
Their third single from the new EP, Synthetic, thematically draws on the way people interact online and the aggressive nature of it. “It’s about how peoples communication on the internet is so perverted and twisted compared to proper communication,” says vocalist Luke Taylor.
“Every discussion you see becomes a personal hostile fight, we’re losing the ability to be respectful and united in trying to understand one another. I also draw on my personal battle with getting sucked into reading comment sections knowing they’re gonna make me mad and put me in a bleak mood.”
Produced by Sam Trott (Rogue Half) with a mix and master by Nick Sjogren (Thornhill), the bands forthcoming LP ‘Pink Lemonade’ is a digital fusion of pop and metal, weaving in and out of expansive EDM soundscapes and soaring chorus’ before unleashing waves of grinding guitar and bass, showcasing Heartline’s musicality as a unit. The quartet’s latest three releases see the band explore new creative ground, to be heard across the release.
‘Pink Lemonade’ will be celebrated live across the East Coast across two weekends late August. The Pink Lemonade Tour will visit Adelaide’s Rhino Room, The Gaso Upstairs in Melbourne, Jungle Duke Hotel in Wagga Wagga and Volta in Ballarat. Tickets on sale now!
Heartline is Luke Taylor, Nevenko Sarunic, George Carey and Michael Cooper. Since their debut in 2019, Heartline have continuously shown themselves as an exciting and promising act to watch in the Australian alternative music scene. Popular releases Delorean and the two-track drop ‘Somewhere Else [I]’ established a sound that seamlessly combined hard-hitting and complex grooves with soaring melodies and irresistible dance elements, with Delorean landing the band a coveted cover spot on Spotify’s Homegrown & Heavy playlist.
Pairing their fresh sound with a relentless, energetic and captivating live performance, the four-piece have earned a place performing alongside artists to the likes of The Word Alive (US), Holding Absence (UK), Crossfaith (JPN), Paledusk (JPN), Thornhill, Windwaker and more and secured a tour with Dance Gavin Dance (US) late 2023, winning over thousands across Australia.
With their following rapidly growing, Heartline level up with each new release. Synthetic is available and streaming everywhere now. The EP ‘Pink Lemonade’ will be out Friday August 16.
