Following the success of his self-titled debut album last year — which became the most globally streamed debut by a Canadian-signed country artist in history — today award-winning artist Jade Eagleson has released his sophomore album, Honkytonk Revival. Saturated with the sounds of old-school instruments like dobro, steel guitars and fiddles, Honkytonk Revival basks in all the glory of a true honkytonk and highlights the booming vocals Eagleson is celebrated for. Paving the way for the modern return of traditional country music, today’s release further highlights that there is no one quite like Jade Eagleson in modern country music.

With a career goal of re-establishing neo-traditional country’s place at the top of the charts, Eagleson has always been laser-focused on creating music that celebrates the history of the genre. Growing up listening to the greats like George Strait, Alan Jackson and Randy Travis to name a few, Eagleson has always believed that a 90’s country revival is inevitable, today’s eight-track release delivers Eagleson’s take on that revival, honing a sound that hasn’t had a consistent place on the charts in decades.

“What grabbed me the most about country music when I first heard it as a kid was the instruments as much as the lyrics and the vocals. As a kid it made me feel like I was in the honkytonk, even before I knew what that was. I remember wanting to know the players by name and I would have been just as excited to meet those guys as almost any artist. That’s why it was so important to me to have the same sounds on this album, with a legend like Brent Mason leading the way with his guitar tones. I hope that country fans can hear the influence of my heroes on this album – George, Alan, Randy, Shania – and are as inspired by all the elements of the music as I was by there’s.” said Eagleson after getting a chance to go all in on the sound that inspired him in the first place with the release of today’s album.

Growing up on a farm in a small town in Ontario with frequent visits to the local honkytonk where his parents first met and introduced him to live music, Eagleson’s life has truly been a country song. Embracing this upbringing, Honkytonk Revival brings together the perfect combination of songs from Eagleson’s catalogue. Including tracks like “I Don’t Drink,” which was written over a decade ago and kicked off Eagleson’s career when he won the ‘Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase’ to more recently written songs like “Whiskey Thinks I Am,” a song that immediately grabs you with the Alabama-harmonies and the undeniable energy of a 7 piece band, Honkytonk Revival tells the story of Eagleson’s passion for country music. In addition to tracks penned himself, the album holds songs like “Hangover Like You”, a song that immediately makes you feel like you’re in a Quentin Tarantino movie with a honkytonk scene, written by one of Eagleson’s modern-day idols John Osborne (Brothers Osborne) and hit writer and record producer Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Josh Turner) as well as “She Don’t Know,” a song that perfectly summarizes Eagleson’s feeling towards his wife of 2 years, Marina Eagleson, and that also represents the way his most manly friends feel about their significant other but can’t always find the words to articulate. Lastly, “Rather Be Single”, written by a couple of Eagleson’s Canadian pals, Griffen Palmer (Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line) and Geoff Warburton (Shawn Mendes, Jake Owen), the track explores a humorous take on a country boy mulling over the idea of what his life might be like if his “type” was a big city girl compared to a down-home country girl.

Eagleson has made quite the mark on the international country music scene, with a knowledge and passion for the roots of the country music genre that is unmatched. Boasting 171+ Million Global Streams and 74M+ views on YouTube since the debut of his self-titled album, which holds two GOLD-certified singles (“Count The Ways,” “Close”) and one PLATINUM-certified single (“Got Your Name On It”) as well as “Lucky,” Eagleson’s first #1 at Canadian country radio. Landing Eagleson on YouTube’s ‘Trending Artist On The Rise’ list, the video for “Got Your Name On It” also appeared on the website’s homepage and holds 6x more views than any other Canadian country music video released since it dropped on YouTube three years ago (57M+ views). Eagleson’s position on this list was the first time a Canadian-signed artist in any genre received this accolade.

2021 has been a landmark year for Eagleson kicking off with his first-ever JUNO nomination for Country Album of the Year and most recently with 2 nominations for the upcoming 2021 CCMA Awards (Male Artist of the Year and Fans’ Choice). He also landed his second #1 at Canadian Country Radio with Honkytonk Revival’s debut track “All Night To Figure It Out” and just this past summer Eagleson took the stage in Switzerland, opening for longtime idol EmmyLou Harris, garnering critical acclaim and a standing ovation and encore from the international crowd.
