JUNO Award-winning Canadian alternative-rock duo Dear Rouge, are thrilled to share their highly-anticipated new album Lonesome High, set to be released on September 13th via Pheromone Recordings / Cadence Music Group on all streaming platforms, CD and Limited Edition Red vinyl.
Produced by Gus van Go (The Beaches, Metric, Sam Roberts Band), Lonesome High is a collection of 11 tracks that will sweep listeners away into a realm of rock music that embodies the band’s longtime mantra of grit and gloss. In every note, timeless struggles and triumphs are amplified through powerful vocals, captivating guitar riffs and vulnerable lyrics. Lonesome High represents more than just alt-rock and indie-pop sounds, it is a representation of overall life, touching on the highs and lows we all experience.
About the album Danielle of Dear Rouge shares “Our pain turned to joy with this record, reminding us that we’re all in this grime of life together. These are our trials and triumphs. Our “lonesome highs. ”We’re so excited to bring you on the pathway from the shores of suffering, up to the mountaintop of joy. It’s all about the journey and the shared vulnerability. We went through the desert to the sonic summit.”
Each song on the album is a testament to Dear Rouge’s dedication to crafting a sound that’s simultaneously enduring and cutting-edge. This is displayed in the title track“Lonesome High,” a piano ballad that offers a sense of catharsis and reflection, and in the opening track “Goon,” which crashes into listeners’ ears with its energetic sound. “Goon” was the first single released from the project and recently burned up the Canadian Alternative Radio charts, reaching the #1 spot.
Also included on the album is the previously released song “Garbage,” an anthem for overcoming adversity and the focus track, “Cutting Teeth,” which explores the idea that negative experiences can provide strength and opportunities for success.
