Canadian Country Recording Artist Justin Fancy won the coveted “Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year Award” at tonight’s 2022 East Coast Music Awards.
Hailing from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, Fancy has quickly become one-to-watch on the Canadian Country music scene. Following the release of his debut album Sure Beats a Good Time in September 2020, Fancy was named Music NL’s Country Artist of the Year and Rising Star of the Year and went on to land a Top 50 Country Radio hit with his single “Makes Me Wanna”, which peaked at #42 on the Billboard Canadian Country charts. The song also landed the #1 spot on Sirius XM Radio’s CBC Country chart, holding the top position for three consecutive weeks.
Fancy then went on to become the first-ever Canadian Country Recording Artist to be invited by The Recording Academy in Los Angeles to perform on their Press Play at Home concert series on Grammy.com.
Just ahead of the ECMA’s Fancy released his latest single, “Better Than You” from his forthcoming sophomore release, due out later this year.
The track, which reminisces about a relatable lost love, features Fancy’s undeniable vocals, world-class production, and his unique mix of classic country songwriting with modern country-pop elements.
Justin is also nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Country Recording of the Year, which will be handed out on Sunday, May 8.
