As we head into the holidays, breakthrough indie-pop singer-songwriter, Laur Elle, has gifted us with a brand new music video for her song, Static! Coming from her debut album, Delayed Reaction, which was released in October, Static is a groove-filled, sexy pop earworm about vacation romance.

Laur Elle shares: “I wrote Static about fantasizing about a vacation romance. It’s that moment when you walk by a really attractive person and think, ‘Who is that?’ and ‘What if..?’ When I sit down to write, I usually find myself leaning towards more emotional and introspective songs, but that’s just one side of me. I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone while writing this record, and Static was the result of that. It’s spicy and sexy, and I think it surprised a lot of people which I love :)”

MORE ABOUT LAUR ELLE & DELAYED REACTION:

As a singer-songwriter who has always been enamoured by the power of words, Laur Elle is a true multi-talented self-starter through and through. The breakthrough LA-based (by way of Alberta, Canada) indie pop artist uses her music to process her own emotions, with a musical vision that is intrinsically tied to her own voice. After time as an internationally competitive gymnast for the Canadian national team, she immersed herself in the creative community and has quickly proven that while poetry was her artistic starting point, music is truly her calling. With music that starts with her pen and her guitar, Laur Elle’s airy vocals, grounded lyrics and lush sound, create the perfect vehicle for escapism — a sound she calls perfect for running (or, more appropriately, driving) away from problems. Recorded in Laur Elle’s hometown of Edmonton with longtime producer, Father Bobby Townsend, there’s an intimate and friendly feel to Delayed Reaction that was born of the atmosphere where it was recorded: a living room strewn with instruments.

The album was accompanied by a series of cinematic, interconnected music videos were released leading up to the record’s launch. Burning OutThe ManEasy Way OutThe Morning Song and Lost Cause took listeners and viewers along for the ride with Laur Elle, highlighting the album’s musical embodiment of a road trip, with each song representing a different step, and stop, on the way.
