A few days after announcing a headlining show at MTELUS as part of the Francos de Montréal this summer, Lisa LeBlanc returns with the song Me semble que c’est facile, the third single off Chiac Disco, her fourth effort in career, due out via Bonsound on March 18th, 2022. This new song follows the singles Entre toi pi moi pis la corde de bois and Pourquoi faire aujourd’hui, released in the fall of 2021. Chiac Disco will be available on vinyl, CD and on all digital platforms.
Through lyrical outbursts reminiscent of the great chanson francophone of the early 70s and architectural string arrangements evocative of Lee Hazlewood’s Your Sweet Love, Me semble que c’est facile is carried out with sweetness and vulnerability. It is also a tribute to Willie Nelson, whose hit song Blue Skies influenced Lisa’s lyrics.
As reflected by its sincere, uninhibited and slightly humorous lyrics, Me semble que c’est facile is THE love song of this highly colorful album that is Chiac Disco. Despite its rich sentimental sound, it is a down-to-earth ballad that reminds us that a romantic relationship does not solely rely on intensity and the notion of love at first sight ; it is also necessary to learn to appreciate the little things that run naturally and recognize the good and not so good side of each other in order to put the required efforts for a couple to continue flourishing.
Directed by Alexandre Pelletier, the music video for Me semble que c’est facile dives into a love story that lives up to the music. Set in an elementary school dance, the video features Lisa delivering a beautifully tender performance as an unexpected romance between two chaperones unfolds before her eyes. The idea for the chaperones was very much inspired by the teachers who came to chaperone the dances at my school, explains Lisa LeBlanc. The school staff would do it voluntarily, and with a lot of love, so that the kids could have something to do. I thought there was a super tender and wholesome side to a love story between these two chaperones.

About Chiac Disco
Recorded in Lisa’s home along with musicians Mico Roy, Léandre Bourgeois and Benoît Morier (with whom she co-produced the album),Chiac Disco is a collaborative and vibrant effort with a sometimes sixties, sometimes seventies feel, staging the improbable crossover of disco and chiac ; where glamour meets rurality. Featuring nifty guitar riffs, extravagant string arrangements, a precise and lively rhythm section, vibrant horns and confident lyrics that describe everyday life with humor and poetry, Chiac Disco is a spontaneous and freewheeling response to the bleak year that was 2020.
About Lisa LeBlanc
Not long after earning major praise at the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, Lisa LeBlanc unveiled her greatly acclaimed, self-titled debut album 10 years ago. In 2014, Highways, Heartaches and Time Well Wasted was released, followed two years later by the Polaris short-listed Why You Wanna Leave Runaway Queen? She opted to sing in English on these last two efforts, thus expanding her creative potential and reaching out to new audiences. Her three albums sold over 140,000 copies.
A few years later and with a new background as a music producer (after having worked with Édith Butler and Jacques Surette), Lisa now returns in full force with the highly anticipated Chiac Disco.
