Born in Ottawa, Onterio, Canada, Edwards has long been celebrated for her ability to blend folk and rock, a sound often described as a cross between Suzanne Vega and Neil Young.

Edwards and her band were touring in support of her new album,”Billionaire” released in August 2025. Edwards delivered a performance that reminded everyone in attendance why she remains one of Canada’s most cherished musical exports.

Dressed in a black top and matching pants adorned with silver sequins that shimmered under the stage lights. Her angelic, soothing voice floated through the venue, drawing the audience in from the very first note of her new single “Say Goodbye, Tell No One”, which she opened her set with. She swayed gracefully across the stage, connecting with each of her five bandmates, smiling and exchanging glances that spoke of years of shared musical chemistry. “I have an extraordinary band… there are no whiners here!” she quipped early in the set, earning a wave of applause and laughter from the crowd.

Throughout the evening, Edwards effortlessly switched between electric guitar, acoustic guitar and violin. Performing her hits like “Change the Sheets”, “Glenfern”, “Six O’Clock News” and “Hard on Everyone”.

The audience was hung on every note, every word, every breath. The Academy of Music, with its intimate acoustics, proved the perfect setting for Edwards’ performance. Kathleen Edwards didn’t just perform, she connected, reminding everyone why her music continues to resonate on both sides of the border.
