Liz shared “Julia and I met a few years ago through a mutual friend and we’ve been collaborating ever since. She’s such a tremendous talent and writing with her has felt organic from the start. We share so many of the same references and love so many of the same artists- it just made sense from the very beginning. I’m so excited for everyone to hear our first song.”
When asked about the inspiration for the song, Julia says “We are both singing this song about our own situations. It’s my favorite part about it being sung in two part harmony. It feels like two friends venting with one another. And I adore how our voices sound together, that was such a bonus!”
Julia Gargano recently released her debut album Side Effects of Happiness asFerry Townes on July 26 via Licorice Pizza Records (vinyl available forpurchase). The debut collection includes singles such as “Still Mad”, “Be Here”, “Times Two” and “T.G.F.K.”. Her next performance will take place alongside the Licorice Pizza All Star Band at The Roxy on Thursday, October 10th (tickets available here).
A lifelong singer, Liz Gillies most recently released Songs From Home in 2021 alongside friend and collaborator Seth MacFarlane and spent last winter touring their Christmas record, We Wish You the Merriest .
