Emerging Vancouver singer-songwriter Madisyn Gifford returns with the release of her euphoric new single “Die Happy” via 604 Records. With her genre-blending sound that fuses indie-folk and pop, Madisyn has been steadily carving out her place in the music scene. Her latest work leans deeper into her folk roots while holding onto the raw, confessional pop energy her fans love. Listen to “Die Happy” HERE.
Madisyn wrote “Die Happy” during a transformative time in her life, and the song reflects that newfound joy. Co-written and produced by Jared Manierka, it captures the butterflies of a new relationship and the excitement of rediscovering life after a dark period. Nostalgic and warm, it channels early 2010s folk-pop vibes – summer nights and first kisses.
“I had been in pretty a dark place before writing this song, and when I wrote the initial idea, it was coming from a place of reprieve. I felt like I had just seen the sun for the very first time after the darkest winter and I remembered how good it felt to feel good,” Madisyn shares. “It felt I was like experiencing the honeymoon phase of a love affair with my own life. Jared and I worked through 10 versions before landing on this, and I’m so thrilled with how it turned out. It feels like the kind of song I would’ve loved as a kid – full of summer, nostalgia, and hope.”

“Die Happy” is part of a larger collection of music Madisyn is releasing later this year. It follows recent singles “Glad You Got Away,” “Fast One,” and “Seventeen,” which have already started to showcase the evolution of her sound and this next phase of her artistry.
Since debuting in 2021 with her EP, Learning to Exist, Madisyn has been on an exciting upward trajectory. Her follow-up releases (I Hate Ur Guts and Sleeping on the Ceiling) showcased her evolution as a songwriter, amassing millions of streams, coverage from tastemakers like Rolling Stone, Consequence, and EARMILK, and receiving major sync placements like Netflix’s Hot Frosty and The CW’s Nancy Drew.
