Ahead of her highly anticipated performance at the Coachella, internationally acclaimed, award-winning artist and author MARINA is back with “CUNTISSIMO,” alongside exciting news of her forthcoming sixth studio album, PRINCESS OF POWER to be released on June 6 (Queenie Records/BMG). The album is available to pre-order on vinyl and CD HERE.
Power, sexuality and desirability are reoccurring themes that charge through this new era. “CUNTISSIMO,” a love song to independence, pays tribute to the women who unapologetically own all of the above (“Salma Hayek in the sun/Louise and Thelma on the run”). “So often, women don’t think they’re allowed to feel their sexuality in a way that doesn’t involve how it looks for men,” says MARINA. “They feel that it’s been co-opted – I would love to be able to free younger women of that, the feeling that our bodies don’t quite belong to us.”
“CUNTISSIMO” comes with an equally iconic music video directed by Olivia de Camps (WATCH HERE), and is the third single to be released from PRINCESS OF POWER, following “CUPID’S GIRL,” (LISTEN) a twisty, seductive pop anthem that merges captivating beats with a psychedelic chorus, and “BUTTERFLY,” (WATCH) which has amassed over 15 million global streams to date. Celebrating MARINA’s first new music since 2022, these three tracks mark a welcomed return for the beloved chanteuse.
Tonight, MARINA is confirmed to play Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, hitting the Coachella Stage at 5:40pm, and returns next Friday, April 18 for Weekend 2 (TICKETS).
Fans can also catch MARINA at several other festivals this summer, including World Pride Music Festival in Washington D.C. on Friday, June 6 (TICKETS), The Governors Ball festival in New York on Saturday, June 7 (TICKETS), the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN on Friday, June 13 (TICKETS), Lollapalooza in Chicago (TICKETS) on Saturday, August 2 and the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal on Sunday, August 3 (TICKETS).
