Alternative rock outfit, Outloved, have released arguably their catchiest, most powerful track to date with “Never Enough”, the fresh new single about self doubt, imposter syndrome and the turbulent crossroads faced when questioning whether you’re good enough.
“Never Enough” made its debut last night on triple j short.fast.loud, and is a pulsing, honest offering that explores the self deprecating feelings involved when not feeling cut out for anything or anyone. Co-written and produced with long time collaborator, Ionei Heckenberg (Ocean Sleeper), the single builds into a hard hitting anthem that sonically expresses the push and pull of the emotions experienced.
The music video filmed by Shaun Williams is a seamless action-packed clip that follows frontman Jaydon Colvin through a chase scene, where the ebb and flow of the narrative is mirrored with masked enemies and swift escapes. Watch here.
“Never Enough” is the second single to find its release in 2022, following on from the thrashing and chaotic August single, “Still Lonely”. Previous to this the band unleashed their debut EP, ‘Be There For Me’, in 2020 and contrary to the lyrical theme of their latest single, the band proved their power when they climbed their way to #7 on the Australian Independent Records (AIR) charts.
After just three years, Outloved recently hit over 4.3 million Spotify streams and have been featured three times in New Music Friday AU & NZ as well as on New Blood, New Noise, All New Rock, Homegrown + Heavy, All New Metal, Rock Out., Rock Rotation and The Core. Last month alone Outloved reached over 80,000 streams and 30,000 monthly listeners.
East Gippsland born rock quartet, Outloved is Jaydon Colvin (vocals), Luke Bakker (drums), Lane Adam (guitar/vocals) and Conor Kelly (guitar). The band found themselves in the depths of the 2020 pandemic after debuting their release “Dying To Leave” late 2019 via Dreambound, where they have collected over 57,000 views.
Fast forward to 2022, the band find themselves stronger than ever having just recently sold out their very first headline show at the iconic Cherry Bar in Melbourne, presented by Fireball Whisky. Equipped with their feisty mix of catchy hooks and belting breakdowns, Outloved have a taste for showcase, and release with the promise of more to come.
