Photos by Kyle McNeil – American musician Alex G took to the stage in Toronto on Saturday November the 5th, 2022. The show took place at the History concert venue that recently celebrated its first birthday since opening. Alex G is currently on his North American tour and only played two Canadian shows this being one of them and the other took place in Montreal the night after. Alex is touring for his latest album titled “God Save The Animals” and played a full 20 song set and a lengthy 8 song encore to finish off the night. At one point the singer paid tribute to a few Toronto local artists like Drake and The Weeknd when he integrated some of their famous lyrics into one of his songs.
For the opening act, Alex G brought along Hatchie to warm up the crowd in Toronto. Hatchie who is currently touring North America as well for her most recent album titled “Giving The World Away” which came out last April. Hatchie, who is natively from Australia is known for her colorful dream pop music and shoegaze indie rock aesthetic. The singer performed her eight-song set for the audience in Toronto, most of which were off the latest project. I’m sure she gained a few fans on this night by the way she was received by the crowd.
