Photos by Orest Dorosh – Aurora Aksnes, known mononymously as AURORA, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on June 15, 1996, in Stavanger, Norway. She gained international recognition in 2015 with her debut EP, Running with the Wolves, followed by her debut album, All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend (2016). Her ethereal voice, poetic lyrics, and unique blend of electropop and folk influences have made her a standout artist.
Aurora’s music often explores themes of nature, emotions, and human connection, and her performances are known for their raw energy and spiritual undertones. She has also been an advocate for environmental and mental health issues. One of her most prominent collaborations was singing “Into the Unknown” for Disney’s Frozen II.
Her later works, including A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) (2019) and The Gods We Can Touch (2022), further showcase her artistry and commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
