Photos by Sharon Steele – The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 have officially begun with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony at a sold-out BC Place. More than 500 competitors from 23 nations were welcomed in a moving and patriotic ‘Paddle Together’ Ceremony, setting the stage for nine days of exhilarating competition.
With breathtaking performances, inspiring speeches—including from Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex—and an atmosphere of unity and celebration, the event captured the heart of the Invictus spirit. Highlights included powerful performances by Chris Martin, Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, Nelly Furtado and Roxane Bruneau, a sea of 40,000 spectators, and an awe-inspiring display of cultural and artistic excellence.
