The duo gained international recognition for their harmonious vocal style and rich acoustic sound. Inspired by American folk musicians such as Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris, First Aid Kit’s music features storytelling lyrics and heartfelt melodies.
The sisters began writing and performing music in their early teens, experimenting with different genres before settling on their signature folk sound. Their breakthrough came in 2008 when their cover of Fleet Foxes’ “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song” went viral on YouTube.
First Aid Kit released their debut album, “The Big Black & The Blue,” in 2010, followed by “The Lion’s Roar” in 2012, which received critical acclaim and propelled them to international fame. They have since released several successful albums, including “Stay Gold” (2014), “Ruins” (2018), and “Who by Fire” (2021).
