Photos by Sharon Steele – FLO is a London-based R&B trio formed in 2019, comprising Jorja Douglas, Renée Downer, and Stella Quaresma. They gained prominence with their debut single “Cardboard Box” in 2022, which went viral on social media platforms and earned a silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry. Their debut EP, The Lead (2022), and follow-up EP, 3 of Us (2023), showcased their blend of classic 90s and early 2000s R&B influences, drawing comparisons to groups like Destiny’s Child and TLC.
In November 2024, FLO released their debut studio album, Access All Areas, which debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart and charted at number 163 on the Billboard 200. The album features collaborations with artists such as GloRilla and Cynthia Erivo, and includes production from notable figures like MNEK. Despite critical acclaim, the album’s commercial success has been moderate. FLO has been recognized with several accolades, including the BBC Sound of 2023 and the Brit Award for Rising Star. They are currently on their “Access All Areas Tour,” continuing to build their presence in the music industry.
