Photos by Sharon Steele – The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 concluded on February 16, 2025, with a vibrant closing ceremony at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The event featured musical performances by Canadian band Barenaked Ladies, American artist Jelly Roll, and the Americana duo The War and Treaty. Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and founder of the Invictus Games, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of the Games in promoting healing and resilience among wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans. He also announced that the next Invictus Games would be hosted in Birmingham, UK, in 2027. The Games showcased over 500 competitors from 23 nations, competing in 11 adaptive sports, including new winter sports such as alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, skeleton, and wheelchair curling. The event was held on the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam), Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, as well as the Sḵałumecw Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nation.
