Photography by Stan Martin – The Legacy of the Beast World Tour is an ongoing concert tour by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, named after the comic and mobile game released by the band in 2017. Described as a “history/hits tour”, Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood has revealed that the concerts and stage design will feature “a number of different but interlocking ‘worlds’ with a setlist covering a large selection of 80s material with a handful of surprises from later albums.”
The Moody Center in Austin TX was overrun with more than 15000 metal heads when Iron Maiden’s “Legacy of the Beast Tour” returned on the second night of the tour. The crowd was on fire as the band kicked off with the title track “Senjutsu” and followed with “Stratego” and “The Writing on the Wall” all from the latest record.
On a recent Podcast, Dickinson said that the 2022 leg of MAIDEN’s “Legacy Of The Beast” tour will once again focus primarily on a decades-spanning setlist of fan favorites. And that’s what they did! The band’s performance was flawless with several set changes and Eddie coming out a few times in different variations, sword fighting with Dickinson and inciting the crowd. And Dickinson, with a flamethrower, runs around the stage with flames shooting from both hands, and finally a Spitfire flying above the stage in the final song of the night.
These guys really rocked the Moody Center with a performance that won’t be forgotten any time soon.
