Photos by Jen Vesp – Kilby Block Party is Salt Lake City’s premier independent music festival, born in 2019 from humble beginnings as a literal block party honoring Kilby Court—Salt Lake’s longest-running, all-ages music venue. What started as a local celebration quickly grew into something much bigger. By 2025, Kilby Block Party will be entering its sixth year and proudly stands as the largest indie music festival ever hosted in Salt Lake City, drawing approximately 25,000 attendees per day from across the globe.
This year also marks a major milestone: Kilby Court’s 26th anniversary. For over two decades, this small but mighty venue has been a launchpad for artists, a gathering place for music lovers, and a vital thread in the fabric of Utah’s creative scene.
Our vision for Kilby Block Party has always been rooted in the spirit of Kilby Court itself—a space that fosters discovery, community, and artistic expression. Each year, we strive to recreate that same intimate, supportive atmosphere on a much larger scale by blending the local music community with some of our favorite national and international artists.
We’re endlessly grateful to everyone who has helped Kilby Block Party grow—from the early believers and passionate volunteers to the fans who travel from near and far. Thank you for being a part of this journey. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in 2025 as we honor Kilby Court’s 26th birthday and another unforgettable year of music, community, and connection.
Hightlights from Day 2 include: Beach House, Built To Spill, Car Seat Headrest, Free Range, Josaleigh Pollett, Momma, Perfume Genius, Slowdive, The Lemon Twigs, Vagabond and Youth Lagoon.
