The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Josh Ramsay, lead guitarist Matt Webb, bassist Mike Ayley, and drummer Ian Casselman. Known for their theatrical style and elaborate compositions, Marianas Trench combines elements of rock, pop, and orchestral music in their sound.

They gained prominence with their 2006 debut album Fix Me, which featured the hit single “Shake Tramp.” Their follow-up albums, including Masterpiece Theatre (2009), Ever After (2011), and Astoria (2015), showcased their evolution with concept-driven themes and intricate arrangements. The band’s creative approach, particularly Ramsay’s songwriting and production, has earned them critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

Marianas Trench is also recognized for their dynamic live performances, blending theatricality with musical virtuosity. They have received numerous awards, including JUNO nominations, and remain a significant influence in the Canadian music scene.
