Photos & Review by Amanda Daubert – NeedToBreathe brought their Caves World Tour through the US capital, Washington DC, Friday night. The excited crowd packed the beautiful venue for what was sure to be an unforgettable evening.

Starting the night off were special guests, Judah & The Lion. The Nashville based Indie-Folk band graced the stage with an infectious, positive energy, offering fans the most inviting welcome to the evening. The crowd was warmed up by signing and dancing to hits like “Over My Head,” “Suit and Jacket” and “Spirit.” They also enjoyed covers of “My Own Worst Enemy” and a full band choreographed dance to Lil Jon’s “Snap Your Fingers,” ending their set with a powerful performance of “Take It All Back.”

With an electric buzz in the air, the crowd awaited the headliners for the evening, the incomparable, NeedToBreathe. This five-piece powerhouse band, hailing from South Carolina, offers a blend of Alternative-Southern-Christian Rock creating a genre all their own. After more than two decades, and eight studio albums, NeedToBreathe has been making their way across the US on the first leg of the Caves Tour in support of their ninth studio album of the same name.

Fans were treated to crowd favorites including “Who Am I,” “Banks,” “Great Night,” and “The Outsiders” along with an incredible cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riely.” The night also featured a powerful video from the incredible organization For Others who work to restore at-risk children, youth, young adults, and families by helping them find relational permanency through reunification, adoption, or mentorship. The night wrapped up with a wonderful encore that featured their most recent single “Dream”, a collaboration with their tour mates Judah & The Lion, who joined them on stage along with a few special fans. It was an incredible evening from start to finish.

You can catch the first leg of the Caves Tour through November 18th, or grab your tickets for the second leg kicking off Spring 2024.
