Photos by Orest Dorosh – Day 1 of All Your Friends Music Festival at Burl’s Creek kicked off with hoodie weather and a ton of heart. Festival-goers braved the cool breeze for a nostalgic lineup packed with emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore favorites. From the opening notes of Winona Fighter to the fiery finale from Rise Against, Friday set the tone for an unforgettable weekend of music, memories, and friendship.

RISE AGAINST, UNDEROATH, BOYS LIKE GIRLS, THE VERONICAS,
THE STARTING LINE, FOUR YEAR STRONG, MONEEN,
WINONA FIGHTER AND FABER DRIVE

The Main Stage brought steady heat all afternoon and evening. Canadian emo veterans Moneen delivered a passionate set, followed by crowd-pleasers like Boys Like Girls and Underoath. But it was Rise Against who closed the night with serious impact—flames, fan favorites like “Swing Life Away,” and anthemic energy that had the entire field singing along. Over at the Second Stage, acts like Faber Drive, The Starting Line, and The Veronicas added their own flair, the latter making their first Canadian appearance since 2009 and lighting up the golden hour crowd.

What really made Day 1 special wasn’t just the music—it was the vibe. Fans swapped friendship bracelets, danced with strangers-turned-besties, and turned the campground into its own little festival village. With a smart layout, short walking distances, and a supportive community feel, the weekend was off to a strong, soulful start. And with Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan set to headline Day 2, the best was still yet to come.
