Right Move is about the struggle of making the right choices to move from repetitive toxic cycles in relationships that lead to going back to a familia , comfortable and safe past. Through a poetic expression of events, the song reveals a representation of women who live a little wild, with sass, follow their hearts and sing about their feminine intuitive power without any remorse.
“It is a deeply personal song, coming from my own heartache and written after experiencing a break up.”
The afro-swing song is an eclectic mix of musical genres which begins with expressive retro vocals representing an allegiance to 60’s soul & Jazz through the influence of Amy Winehouse’s “black to black”. The song gradually builds up with a combination of deep raspy bluesy vocals, authentic and candid lyrics, an amalgamation of an African-indie R&B influenced melodic hook, and a Caribbean chord progression.
