New York’s folk-rock tunesmith, Crash Taylor, could have done what most musicians did in lockdown and pen a new album. Not to be content with the norm, Taylor one upped his peers by writing a new album AND penning a novel. Both the album (Retired Outlaw) and the novel (Pot.Dot.Com) are set to be released on the 25th of this month. Today, we get a sneak peak at his newest single, “Where’s My Baby” from Retired Outlaw (Fanatic Records). “Baby” is bluesy rocker about needing your partner by your side when you need them most. In his own words, Taylor says “When you find it, you always want it close. The physical pain we suffer when we are apart from our lover is all too real.” Who can’t relate to that?
Crash Taylor shows up with nothing to prove and with everything that stirs the heart to share. Husky baritone mixed with seasoned guitar playing, the music will strike a chord for any folk/rock lover, but the wholeness of his presence in every phrase will make you wonder if a genre is needed to describe it. Crash Taylor will bring you to the present moment and leave you with truths you forgot to remember.
