LEONE, the LGBTQ pop and alt-rock group based in Brooklyn, NY are releasing a new single + music video on July 21st off their upcoming sophomore EP titled and Amplify Music is very pleased to be premiering today.

” ‘GTFOH’ is my first time speaking about my frustration with the establishment and the world we are living in. How we turn on each other at the flip of a dime, and are so easily manipulated by the media and people in power. However, there are so many issues and subliminal messages that are being talked about and I really want the audience to come up with their own opinion & story for both of these videos.

The video starts with me finding myself beaten and tied up by someone I can’t quite see. As the video goes on I see that the enemy is in fact someone I had trusted in the past (refer to “I Wanna Be” music video which ends with a “to be continued…”). The end of ‘GTFOH’ shows me taking back my power and walking my own path. The vocals are meant to sound like a loudspeaker. It’s my first time using my voice to relay this kind of message
.”- Richie Leone

GTFOH is all about reclaiming your power; the sophomore EP from Brooklyn-based alt rock group LEONE is ultimately a comment on the times that we’re living in. In a world that is constantly trying to beat us down, LEONE hopes that GTFOH will serve as a reminder to stand up for what you believe in and fight for your life.

The EP covers a lot of emotional ground, ranging from feelings of angst and loss, to lust and sexuality. Speaking candidly about these topics on the new songs is one way in which LEONE is reclaiming their power.

Produced by Peter Savad, GTFOH is the first piece of work from LEONE that features bassist Tarik Merzouk and drummer Brian Del Guercio on the recordings. Many songs on this EP were written during the same time that LEONE’s full band lineup was taking shape, which allowed the band to find their sound in a very collaborative and organic way. Lyrically, this EP showcases the growth and healing that songwriter Richie Leone has had since the band’s first EP (thisbodyisntmine), released in June 2022.

LEONE Bio:
Since their formation in 2021, queer-fronted alt rock group LEONE have been making waves within the Brooklyn music scene with their emotionally charged sound. Blending feelings of angst, lust, and grief, their distinct style has been gaining traction over the last two years.

Following the success of queer glam rock band DEITRE, lead singer/songwriter Richie Leone formed LEONE back in 2021 with the intention of it being a solo project. After coming together organically with drummer Brian Del Guercio and bassist Tarik Merzouk, LEONE as we know it was born.

In early 2022, LEONE released their debut single, “Monochrome Colors”, accompanied by a beautifully emotional music video. This song established the band’s sound and identity, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Following the success of “Monochrome Colors”, LEONE released their debut EP, (thisbodyisntmine), in the summer of 2022.

LEONE’s highly anticipated sophomore EP, GTFOH, is set to be released this August. The EP showcases the band’s evolution and growth since (thisbodyisntmine) with seven new tracks that cover a lot of emotional ground. GTFOH is quintessential LEONE, but with a fresh sound. It’s the first project of LEONE’s to feature drummer Brian Del Guercio and bassist Tarik Merzouk on the tracks. The EP explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, with introspective and thought-provoking lyrics, something LEONE excels at. The first single from the EP, “Kiss ‘Em Bye Bye,” is out now. With a few more singles, music videos, and shows coming before the EP release, LEONE is gearing up for a jam-packed summer.
