About “Ojos de Almendra”:

An uplifting song about love and what it feels like to be in love, “Ojos de Almendra” (Almond Eyes) is a colourful, upbeat track written in dedication to Onna Lou’s husband. As they celebrated their 12th year together, Onna Lou penned the song on a warm summer evening during a vacation to Lake Winnipeg. Blending popular Latin American musical concepts, the lyrical style of “Ojos de Almendra” features elements of Argentine Tango, while the chords and rhythm section are vibrantly filled with romantic musical elements from Mexico. An ode to love’s euphoric qualities in which we feel like everything around us changes, Onna Lou’s “Ojos de Almendra” is a vibrant and joyful dedication to love, and the ones we love.

With a rich, cinematic feel, “Ojos de Almendra” features sunny instrumentation which includes multiple traditional Latin American instruments. The song was co-produced by multiple Latin Grammy winning producer Raniero Palm in Venezuela, Julian Vidal, and Onna Lou herself.
