Singer-songwriter, Ryan Terrigno, comes to us from Anaheim, CA, where he just wrapped up recording his debut solo LP, Alive & Well. Produced by Alex Dezen (The Damnwells, Broken Baby) and mixed by Whynot Jansveld (Dave Matthew Band, Butch Walker), Alive & Well is ten tracks of pure indie-pop bliss. While there’s no release date set for the album, first single “Get Lost” will be released tomorrow (Pre-Save Link), May 12th.
“’Get Lost’ is a song I wrote in March of 2022,says Terrigno. “It acted as the catalyst that allowed the rest of the album to come to life. It was one of those rare occasions in songwriting, where halfway through the initial version – I just knew there was something there that deserved to be chased down.” Sounding like a more mature New Found Glory, the number tackles some heavy stuff, but with an uplifting tone to it all.
I always told you – If I don’t go first, I would wander the earth like a ghost
While searching for his muse, Terrigno chose his wife. “When I got into the studio with Alex, we played around a lot with the arrangement and found a way to focus solely on the elements that made it great. In doing so, we organically lost a lot of the lyrics that made the song more of a downer, and managed to flip the script and turn it into a good old fashioned love song – where my wife gets to stay very much alive!
“Alex knocked it out of the park on the production of this song and really helped to
forge the undeniable quality that only an anthemic, stomp-clap chorus can bring.
With his help, a song that was once a 5-minute eulogy to my still-living wife,
transformed into an optimistic three minute and thirty-seven second banger.”
Backed by a phenomenal lineup of musicians, including Zac Clark (Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness), Brian Griffin (The Black Crowes, Lana Del Rey), and Rich Hinman (Maren Morris, Sara Bareilles), “Get Lost” is primed to take the summer by storm.
