Vicki Lovelee is an Asian Canadian alt-pop singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto. Her music combines pop with dark, dramatic sounds; fused with orchestral instrumentations that immediately grabs your attention. Her music and style embodies a combination of fierce yet vulnerable; having eccentric elements like Lady Gaga and lush instrumentations like Lana Del Rey. As well as drawing influences from pop artists like Halsey and Melanie Martinez.
Lovelee’s new music video for her single “Counting Me” just dropped on March 10, 2023. It talks about someone who decides to leave your life and refusing to be sad about it. But rather confident in yourself and your ability. In the video, Lovelee playfully taunts her ex-lover. Even though they left her, they still see and hear her everywhere and their regret slowly drives them insane. The new music video reveals a new side of Lovelee; having released vulnerable and melancholic songs in the past, this new music video marks the start of a new phase of emotions, like pettiness, playfulness and confidence. Lovelee is embracing her villain era and encourages listeners to do the same.
Lovelee graduated from York University’s Music Program, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She also completed Canada’s Music Incubator’s Artist Entrepreneur Program in 2021. She has performed at events such as Toronto Chinatown Festival (2022) and Night It Up! (Markham, Ontario, 2022). She has accumulated 70K+ streams on music platforms and have also received notable grants from FACTOR and Ontario Arts Council. Vicki Lovelee continues to pull listeners close with her eccentric performance style and theatrical edge.
