Forming as a duo in the fall of 2019, vocalist/lyricist Adam Rebillard and guitarist Avery Avello began working on what would become What Makes Sense. After enlisting the help ofsome friends, the duo headed to Chris Piquette of No Boundaries Studio to begin working on their debut EP. The duo released debut single Spooky in October 2019 to great success and followed up with the EP “Fear and Loathing in the Northeast” in November 2019.

The duo grew to include rhythm guitarist Eddie Petershagen and bassist Aaron Barkstrom. With the help of some fill-in drummers, the quartet embarked on some shows in late 2019/early 2020 while also getting into the studio to record new music. After a quiet 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, the band burst back onto the scene with the January 2021 release of anthemic single Groundhog Day, followed by singles Cary Grant, Rear Window, and Vicious Game. Enlisting now drummer Marcelo Erazo in the fall of 2021, the now full lineup has been playing shows and writing songs with no plans on stopping anytime soon.
