Seattle’s Will Rainier is set to release his new LP, Wobble in the Moon, tomorrow. Before then, we’ve got a sneak peak and standout track “Dark Secret Heart.” Rainier says that “Dark Secret Heart” is a song about struggling with inner demons…”that dark voice in your head.”
It really is a haunting number that has so much going on. Rainier’s wife, Jen Garrett, lends lovely harmonies to the song. But it’s Raymond Richard’s pedal steel that steals the show.
“I started out thinking this would be a sparse, acoustic album, but then I just kept adding parts”, says Rainier. “It’s easy to get carried away sometimes, but I try to self-edit the best I can. I’m also very lucky to have some great musicians on the album and they all really added some amazing parts that really help make the songs come alive.”
Wobble in the Moon drops June 30th, via Basement Tape Records.
