London-based, Italian rocker, Quarry, has been quite busy over the past four years. His new LP, Positioning the Sun, will be his third over the past four years. New single “Beyond Any Sense” grapples with isolation and what passes for social activity in this day and age. It’s hard to keep up and harder to bother trying. After kicking off with a slight nod to The Pixies, “Beyond Any Sense” asks the question “What will happen if there’s no rain?” before urging you to “Come with me.” By the time you get to the addictive chorus, you’ll surely be angrily singing along, just as we are.

“I wanted to make an eclectic album. I started writing a sort of soundtrack to an imaginary movie. But then I realized that I was locked into my tiny home studio with this new pandemic disease bursting into planet earth, and I was writing songs about isolation, distance, separation. It was the soundtrack of that particular time. Pandemic permeated the album with a sense of loneliness and concern and when it was almost finished, the outbreak of war in Ukraine made the songs more relevant, and new ones flowed quickly.”

Quarry’s epic new LP, Positioning the Sun, drops this Friday the 14th, via Lowfieye Records.
